Welcome to The Brewhouse, a charming café nestled in a historic building on Vyne Rd, Sherborne St John, Basingstoke. It’s not just a place for a cup of coffee; it’s an experience steeped in rustic charm and warm ambiance. As you step inside, you’re transported to days gone by with cozy decor and a welcoming atmosphere that invites you to sit back, unwind, and savor every moment.

The café features both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing you to relish the picturesque countryside while enjoying your favorite food and drinks. With a menu that boasts a delightful array of cakes, pasties, sandwiches, and a selection of freshly brewed coffee, there’s something to please every palate. Customers have praised the excellent quality of food, with many highlighting the scrumptious pastries that offer a perfect companion to the perfectly brewed coffee.

Real customer reviews reflect the love for this café. Kiszlinger János describes it as a "nice coffee house in an old building," and applauds its rustic feel. Meanwhile, Michael and Julie Bowell appreciate its serene environment and friendly staff, though they do advise arriving outside of peak lunchtime hours to avoid long queues. It's that ambiance and quality service that makes The Brewhouse a true gem, even amidst a bustling lunch rush.

However, not every review has been glowing. Some customers, like those from Shadow Tours, noted that certain items can lack warmth and freshness, hinting at inconsistencies. Yet, other feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, mentioning not just the food but also the cleanliness and overall presentation of the café.

If you're looking for a delightful escape where you can enjoy high-quality food in a beautiful setting, The Brewhouse is a must-visit. It’s a perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon or a quick coffee break, making it an ideal retreat for both locals and travelers alike.

Nice coffee house in an old building, the inside is rustik feels like in old days. Good food, a lovely change to other national trust coffee houses.

Lovely cafe with indoor & outdoor seating in a picturesque setting. The food and drinks are excellent quality, the staff are friendly & helpful, but available seating can be harder to find at busier times, especially around lunchtimes when have found queues which are long and slow to clear, but otherwise a wonderful cafe overall. Recommended, even more so away from lunchtime hours!

Decent National Trust cafe. The usual range and some local options. As good as you'd expect.

They sell the same sausage roll and cauliflower pasty that’s on most nt menus now but they were served without salad and they were lukewarm as if they had been microwaved. The same items were purchased at Hardwick Hall last week and were served with a nice salad and were well cooked. Hot dog was tasty but £1 for a very small amount of cold onions felt steep.

I came here on a Bank Holiday Monday at lunchtime and was really worried about how long it would take to get served. I'm in the end. I was really impressed. It took about 10 minutes to get through the que, and there was still plenty of food left. There's a nice range of items from cakes, pastys, and sandwiches. There's loads of seating and the whole cafe was clean and well presented.
